Job Description

To provide academic clinical instruction and supervision of senior veterinary students on clinical rotations in the Small Animal Medicine and Surgery clinic. To assess students’ clinical skills for Day One competencies as per the SoVM logbook. To take responsibility for all patients in the Small Animal Medicine and surgical ward from admission to discharge and follow-up, while guiding students through each case. To conduct daily ward rounds. Organise lectures, case study discussions, practicals, and seminars as required. Experience in small animal surgery will be a distinct advantage.

Requirements

Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent degree. Unconditional registration with the Namibian Veterinary Council. Five to ten years relevant continuous experience with small animal medicine and surgery in a registered veterinary clinic or hospital. Participation in afterhours duties including evenings, weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis. Lecturing duties to undergraduate students, and supervision and assessment of senior students on clinical rotation in the small animal medicine clinic.
