Job Description

The incumbent must identify research funding opportunities and disseminate them to researchers using a variety of communication channels; Assist in planning and preparation of grant proposals; Facilitate collaboration among researchers for grant calls; Assist researchers with grant writing; Assist with compiling due diligence reports; Assist Principal Investigators with the submission of proposals and reports; and Liaise with relevant Faculties. 

Identify key funding agencies for research funding and maintain an up-to-date database of each donor agency’s areas of focus, policies and requirements; Collect funding requirements for projects from academic staff and search for funding opportunities; Facilitate and support research teams to develop grant proposals timeously. This is a fulltime and permanent administrative position.

Requirements
  • Master’s Degree coupled with 2 years post-qualification experience in grant writing and grant sourcing. Training in Grant Management and/or Project Management is preferred. A record of successful grant applications is an added advantage. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and be an excellent team player.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Capable of building and maintaining good relationships with academics, administrative staff, and funders.
  • Knowledge of current trends in the funding landscape.
  • Knowledge of grant funding and other relevant policies and procedures
