The candidates should have a relevant PhD (Doctorate Degree): At least three (3) years of service as a Lecturer and a satisfactory record of teaching, research and publication, and service to the academic and wider community; At least four (4) publications, of which two (2) must be refereed scholarly research outputs and of which two (2) must have been published since attaining the rank of Lecturer. 

Or candidates should have a relevant Master’s degree, with at least three (3) years of service as a Lecturer and a satisfactory record of teaching, research, publication, and service to the academic and wider community. At least seven (7) publications, of which three (3) must be refereed scholarly research outputs and at least four (4) must have been published since attaining the grade of Lecturer.
