- Job Description
Teach undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Welding Engineering. Successful candidate will be expected to teach Welding Engineering courses such as Welding Processes and Equipment, Quality Control in Welding Applications, Weldability of Materials, Advances Manufacturing Processes e.g. Additive Manufacturing of Metals, AI Applications in Gas Metal Arc Welding Systems.
Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Secure and sustain internally and externally funded research and industry projects in their areas of expertise.
Establish an impactful and visibly recognize research group in the field of expertise.
Manage and execute various academic, research, industry and administrative projects.
- Requirements
A Doctorate (NQA Level 10) in Mechanical Engineering with at least ten years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience.
Possession of International Welding Engineer (IWE) diploma issued by the International Institute of Welding (IIW).
Proven record of sourcing, coordination, management and execution of external research and project funding.
Strong academic management and leadership skills.
A proven record undergraduate and postgraduate teaching excellence in Welding Engineering.
At least 25 refereed journal publications of which 7 must have been published since attaining the Grade of Associate Professor.
Have a proven record of demonstrated outstanding scholarly contributions in research in peer-reviewed journal articles/books/conference proceedings, and a sound research profile.
Successful supervision of post-graduate students at post-graduate level.
