- Job Description
1. Accompany the Senior Veterinarian on Mobile Animal Clinic trips to various locations in Namibia as required. Carry out duties in the MAC including but not limited to primary health care, anesthesia and post-surgical monitoring of patients.
2. When not on MAC trips, assist the UNAM Veterinary Academic Hospital (VAH) Surgeon with all facets pertaining to surgical cases in small animals, including maintenance of clinical records, at the VAH, Neudamm campus. Participate in practical student sessions in the Skills lab/wet lab, with models, live animals and cadavers.
3. Active participation in research and community service in the School of Veterinary Medicine.
- Requirements
BVM or equivalent qualification. Unconditional Registration as a Veterinarian in Namibia, with up to 5 years of clinical experience in companion animals. Experience in the field of small animal surgery and with a Mobile Animal Clinic (MAC) (community and welfare veterinary service in remote areas) will be an advantage.
Surgical expertise (panhysterectomy) will be practically assessed in shortlisted candidates.
