Job Description

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Develop and deliver high-quality teaching content in Medical Biochemistry, encompassing relevant topics and concepts, to students across departments and faculties, utilizing innovative teaching methods. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, providing guidance and mentorship to students to support their research endeavours. Conduct original and impactful scientific research and publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Actively seek grant funding opportunities to support research endeavours. Initiate and participate in community outreach to address public health concerns and promote community well-being. Perform administrative duties as necessary.

Requirements

Should have a Master’s degree in Medical Biochemistry or a closely related field. A PhD (Doctorate Degree in the required field) would be an added advantage. Normally possesses three (3) years of lecturing/tutoring experience at the university level in Medical Biochemistry or a related discipline. Ability to effectively supervise both undergraduate and postgraduate students in research projects. Demonstrated good track record in teaching, conducting impactful research, and publication record in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Commitment to serving the academic and wider community through active participation in relevant service activities. The ability to secure grant funding to support research endeavours would be an added advantage.
