Job Description
  1. Job Specifications (Main duties) Provide strategic leadership on the development of all services offering within the Directorate as well as efficient and effective management regarding all areas of the student experience to promote student welfare, diversity and inclusivity at the University in a cost effective and sustainable manner that supports and advances the University’s vision, mission and strategic objectives.  Leading, directing and managing the Directorate with regard to the development of student support programs; sport, culture.  Providing strategic  leadership in terms of governing  policies, procedures, and regulations including holistic management  of student life out of the classroom  (student health,  academic counselling, psychological counseling, career, clinical and health matters of the student and extra-mural activities at the University); Overseeing the compilation of Student rules and regulations; Coordinating the development of appropriate policies and procedures to regulate the Student Representative Council (SRC);  Overseeing the development of a generic annual orientation program for the University. Ensuring the University’s student programs and support services promote diversity and inclusivity and are non-discriminatory; Ensure alignment of the Management Plan to the Budget; Create a conducive student environment.  Attract and retain impactful sponsors/donors for student programs; Perform any other functions as may be required.
Requirements
  1. Minimum Job Requirements (Person specifications, qualifications, experience and skills) A Master’s degree in Business Management and Leadership, Education, Sport Management, Psychology, Social Work, or related field. Should have been in a senior managerial position for at least four (4) years; Must have expertise in administration, extensive knowledge in the development and provision of student support services/programs, including academic and career counselling; Proven track record in leadership (vision, creativity, team leader, integrity and commitment); Preference will be given to qualified Namibian Citizens.
