Job Description

To provide effective lecturing and supervision to students of the University of Namibia, undertake research activities, and provide relevant community engagement, as required. To engage with theoretical, clinical, and research training and supervision in occupational therapy as well as administrative duties of a developing department. Assisting in module and curriculum development and working with colleagues and the program lead to further the occupational therapy programme. Developing and supervising service-learning placements in child and youth health and well-being at hospitals, clinics, community centers, or any other settings.

Requirements

Should be in possession of a Bachelor in Occupational Therapy with a Master’s degree in Occupational therapy or equivalent from a recognized University. Registered or registerable with the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA), preferably with three (3) years ‘academic teaching and clinical experience specific to paediatric occupational therapy in a tertiary institution to undergraduate students. Experience in developing and implementing occupational therapy clinical work (service learning) in the paediatric field of practice. Knowledge of and experience in group-based paediatric occupational therapy interventions would be an added advantage. A satisfactory record of research, research, and publications will be an advantage.
