Job Description
  • Perform teaching duties: theoretical (online and/or face-to-face) of undergraduate health sciences students, as well as practical teaching in skills lab and clinics. 
  • Act as a module coordinator for specific modules within the Division of Family Medicine. 
  • Assist with supervising Community Based Education 1, 11 and 111 modules as offered as part of Family Medicine. 
  • Collaborate with other staff members, full-time and well as part-time, for effective teaching outcomes. 
  • Conduct student evaluations through theoretical tests, practical clinical examinations, assignments and portfolios. 
  • Assist in updating study guides and participate in curriculum review processes. 
  • Coordinate, supervise/advise and assist undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. Participate in research activities in the Department. 
  • Lead the Postgraduate Diploma in Family Medicine. 
  • Engage in Community Engagement projects. 
  • Perform any other duties as required by the school management. 
Requirements

Clinical Lecturer: Should have a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent from a recognized University. Registered or registerable with the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA), demonstrated a minimum of eight (8) years in the field of specialization as required. A satisfactory record of research, research and publications will be an advantage.

Clinical Senior Lecturer: A Master’s degree in Family Medicine or equivalent specialisation following a clinical entry-level degree (e.g., MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized University. Registered or registerable with the Health Professionals Council of Namibia (HPCNA) and possess a minimum of 10 years of clinical teaching experience in the area of specialisation. A satisfactory record of teaching, research, and publication record will be an added advantage.
