- Job Description
- Provide leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum development, student assessment, academic advising, and quality assurance.
- Supervise and examine undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, fostering scholarly excellence and student success.
- Lead and contribute to research, publications, conference presentations, grant acquisition, translational research, and national and international academic collaborations.
- Mentor students, junior academics, and colleagues, while promoting professional development, lifelong learning, and research capacity building.
- Provide academic leadership and strategic guidance on teaching, research, postgraduate training, and institutional development initiatives.
- Timeously submitting all assessment results to the Head of Department.
- Assisting the Department identifying relevant new programmes based on their expertise
- Creating an environment to foster academic debate.
- Promote a culture of academic excellence, critical inquiry, innovation, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the School and University.
- Perform any other duty that could be necessary in the Department or in the school and the faculty at large.
- Requirements
Clinical Associate Professor: A relevant Master’s degree in the field of specialisation or MMed (Internal Medicine) following a clinical entry-level degree (MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized University, plus registered or registerable with the relevant Namibia professional council as a practitioner as well as a minimum of 12 years clinical experience in the relevant field of specialization as well as a minimum of 3 years teaching experience with a cumulative record of seventeen (17) publications of which at least six (6) must be refereed scholarly works and a cumulative record of seventeen (17) publications of which at least six (6) must be refereed scholarly works.
Clinical Professor: A relevant PhD in the field of specialization (Internal Medicine) or equivalent sub-specialty qualification from a recognized Institution and registered as a candidate with the respective Professional Body in addition to a Masters and following a clinical entry-level degree (MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized University, plus registration with the relevant Namibia professional council as a practitioner as well as a minimum of 15 years clinical experience in the relevant field of specialization as well as a minimum of 3 years teaching experience with a cumulative record of twenty five (25) publications of which at least twelve (12) must be refereed scholarly works.
