- Job Description
The applicant is expected to:
- Have the ability to develop and ambitious and impactful research portfolio and be able to mobilize research funds though applying for grants and funding calls.
- To be an active researcher and be able to establish collaborative research groups
- To be active in publishing scholarly work in reputable high impact journals and be able to mentor early career researchers and build research capacity
- Participate in various research related activities, teaching, research project supervision including postgraduate research supervision and programme development at postgraduate level.
- Requirements
- A PhD in Social Science or related fields.
- At least three (3) years of service as Senior Researcher and a
satisfactory record of research and publication and service to academic and
wider community. - At least a cumulative record of twenty-six (26) publications of which eleven (11) must be refereed scholarly research outputs and which must have been published since attaining the grade of Senior Researcher, of these at six (6) must be refereed journal articles.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Global Health, Population and Development, Disaster Management, Climate Adaptation & Mitigation and Sustainable Development.
- A good track record of Research and Publication, Postgraduate Student Supervision and Resource Mobilization for research through applications.
- Proven record of established research networks, partnerships, collaborations and mentorship
- Experience working with quantitative data will be an added advantage.
