Job Description
  • Perform teaching duties: theoretical (online and/or face to face) and practical teaching of medical students including bedside teaching within as well as across departments when the need arises. 
  • Collaborate with other staff members including state hospital or private adjunct lecturers for effective teaching and outcome. 
  • Setting different examinations both theoretical and practical examinations including organized structures clinical examinations. 
  • Assist in updating study guides and synchronize the current transformed curriculum. coordinate, supervise/advise and assist undergraduate and postgraduate. 
  • Participate in research activities in the department; 
  • Provide clinical care to patients allocated to students. Manage patients as a specialist in your discipline. 
  • Active contribution and participation in the Curriculum development for Post Graduate training in General Surgery. 
  • Perform any other duties as required by the different levels of school management and work colleagues. 
Requirements

A relevant Master’s degree in the field of specialization or MMed (General Surgery) following a clinical entry-level degree (MBChB, or equivalent) from a recognized University, plus registration with the relevant Namibia professional council as a practitioner, as well as a minimum of 10 years clinical teaching experience in the area of specialization. A satisfactory record of teaching, research, and publications will be an added advantage. Furthermore, completed internship, PostGraduate Specialization Degree M Med, or Fellowship in the specialty recognized by HPCNA, proof of active clinical practice as a specialist/ consultant in the related clinical sociality, proof of active registration at the country of origin of specialization MEDICAL COUNCIL, and proof of experiences in Tertiary teaching institutes (Minimum 5 years for senior lecturer).
