- Job Description
Case management. Monitor students on academic probation. Develop and implement student development workshops. Serve on various University committees. Student referral for all campuses. Enhance the academic success and retention of students. Develop, co-ordinate, implement and evaluate strategies and services to benefit the students. Establishing procedures and monitoring academic progress to ensure that students meet UNAM’s requirement to pass. Tailor academic programmes for students that need help that will lead to their success, provide ongoing advice and counselling. Work closely with faculty officers to help students succeed academically. Initiate group and individual advice. Provide general advice and counselling to students individually and in groups in the areas of course enrolment, university requirements, study strategies and skills. Work in collaboration with other campuses and unite staff members towards the success of students. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and on call responsibilities
- Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Psychology or any relevant field. Experience in working with a diverse student population. Strong interpersonal and group presentation skills. Effective advice, guidance and counselling skills. Ability to assess student needs and design programs to address them. Thorough knowledge and understanding of student issues at the university level. Must be registered with the Health Professional Council of Namibia as a Psychologist with five years’ experience.
