Job Description
  • Monitoring regulatory and policy developments relevant to research and innovation activities.
  • Providing administrative compliance support to Units under the PVC: RID Division.
  • Supporting staff and researchers with guidance on compliance procedures and institutional requirements.
  • Coordinating development and review of internal policies, procedures and guidelines related to research.
  • Supporting alignment of activities with national development frameworks (e.g., NDP, Vision 2030).
  • Coordinating compliance tracking across units under PVC: RID.
  • Reviewing grant documentation to identify reporting, monitoring and operational compliance requirements.
  • Liaising with the Centres for Research Services (CRS) and Grants Management Office as well as the RID Project Finance Office to track compliance milestones.
  • Developing and maintaining compliance checklists for agreements and funded projects.
  • Monitoring operational processes to identify potential compliance risks and reporting same to management.
  • Liaising with the Risk Management Specialists and relevant Units to support risk mitigating initiatives.
  • Maintaining the Unit’s risk log.
  • Updating compliance tracking tools in line with institutional policies and procedures related to risk and compliance.
  • Monitoring research compliance indicators and flagging irregularities.
  • Escalating all non-compliance matters to the supervisor and relevant institutional offices.
  • Conducting internal reviews of research projects.
  • Preparing compliance reports for university management and relevant university committees.
  • Coordinating reporting of suspected misconduct in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
  • Performing any other relevant and related duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisors from time to time.
Requirements

The candidate  should be in possseions of a Bachelor’s Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management, Compliance, or related field, coupled with at least three (3) years’ relevant working experience in research administration, grants management or compliance monitoring.
