- Job Description
Treatment of clinical cases of equine patients at UNAM Veterinary Hospital, including medical and surgical cases in Windhoek (Neudamm). Lecturing veterinary students in selected topics in equine clinical studies as determined by the Head of Department; as well as practicals. Conduct practical sessions in the Skills lab/wet lab, and where applicable with live animals. Conduct continuous assessment of students. Participate in organization and implementation of sixth year clinical rotation training.
Active participation in research and community service in the School of Veterinary Medicine.
- Requirements
Unconditional Registration as a Veterinarian in Namibia, with at least 5 years of proven clinical experience in Equine Clinical Studies. Sufficient exposure to and competence in equine clinical practice including basic surgery, castrations, diagnostic imaging and internal medicine is required. B.V.M or equivalent qualification. Experience in education and current participation in community service activities will be an advantage. Clinical expertise may be practically assessed in shortlisted candidates. A relevant Post Graduate degree will be an advantage. Participation in the after hours and emergency calls for equine patients is essential.
