Job Description

Instructional and Technical support, coordinates schedules, prepares reagents and teaching aids, sets up and tests experiments before sessions, and cleans or reorganises laboratory spaces afterward, while executing a broad range of routine disciplinary tasks in close collaboration with academic staff.

Fieldwork and logistics coordination supports lecturers and students during practical field excursions and demonstrations, and receives instructions and directions from senior academic support staff to effectively manage all associated transport, accommodation, and catering logistics.

Maintenance and safety compliance: maintains, cleans, calibrates, and repairs laboratory equipment or software while safely storing, dispensing, and tracking chemical inventories in strict accordance with safety policies and any additional duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Research and administrative support, assist with faculty and student research by preparing materials, capturing data, processing procurement requisitions, participating in departmental meetings, and supervising junior technical assistants under the guidance of senior staff

Requirements

A Bachelor of education (honours) in Secondary Education, with a specifisation in Physics and Chemistry or A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalet qualification recognised at an equivalent tertiary level  A minimum of six (6) months of relevant professional or laboratory experince is highly desirable and will be considered a distinct advantage
