Job Description
  • Theoretical (online and/or face-to-face) and practical teaching of both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, including bedside teaching within as well as across departments when the need arises. 
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including state hospital or private adjunct lecturers, for effective teaching and outcomes. 
  • Setting different examinations, both theoretical and practical examinations including organized structured clinical examinations (OSCEs/OSPEs). 
  • Update and or produce study guides and synchronize the current transformed curriculum. 
  • Coordinate modules as well as practical examinations 
  • Coordinate, supervise/advise and assist undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. 
  • Participate in research activities in the department; 
  • Provide clinical care to patients allocated to students. Manage patients as one of the specialists in the discipline. 
  • Active contribution and participation in the Curriculum implementation strategies for Post Graduate training in Internal Medicine. 
  • Participate in any relevant community activities. 

Perform any other duties as required by the different levels of school management and work colleagues. 

Requirements

A relevant Master’s degree in the field of specialization or MMed (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine), following a clinical entry-level degree (MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized University, plus registered or registerable with the relevant Namibia professional council as a practitioner, as well as a minimum of 10 years clinical teaching experience in the area of specialization. A satisfactory record of teaching, research, and publications will be an added advantage.
