Job Description
  • To provide academic leadership as a senior academic at the University of Namibia across departments and faculties but more specifically under the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the School of Pharmacy.
  • To undertake research, postgraduate supervision and examination.
  • To promote professional development.
  • To undertake community engagement as well as supporting the performance and development of the School and the Faculty.
Requirements
  • PhD in the areas of Pharmacology and therapeutics with relevant research, publications and industrial experience.
  • The prospective candidate should have a primary qualification registrable with the Health Professions Council of Namibia.

For Senior Lecturer

  • Served as Lecturer for three (3) years. 
  • Satisfactory contribution in teaching, research and publication and service to the academic and wider community.
  • A cumulative and sustained record of four (4) publications of which two (2) must be refereed scholarly research outputs and must have been published since attaining the grade of Lecturer. Of these, at least two (2) of the publications must be refereed journal articles.

For Associate Professor:

  • Served as Senior Lecturer for three (3) years. 
  • Satisfactory contribution in teaching, research and publication and service to the academic and wider community.
  • A cumulative and sustained record of seventeen (17) publications of which seven (7) must be refereed scholarly research outputs and must have been published since attaining the grade of Senior Lecturer. Of these least three (3) of the publications must be refereed journal articles.

For Full Professor:        

  • Served as Associate Professor for three (3) years. 
  • Satisfactory contribution in teaching, research and publication and service to the academic and wider community.
  • A cumulative and sustained record of twenty-five (25) publications of which seven (7) must be refereed scholarly research outputs and must have been published since attaining the grade of Associate Professor. Of these, at least six (6) of the publications must be refereed journal articles.
