Job Description

Perform teaching duties: theoretical (online and/or face to face) and practical teaching of medical students, including skills lab, clinics, and bedside within the department. Act as a module coordinator for specific modules within the department. Collaborate with other staff members, full-time and well as part-time lecturers for effective teaching outcomes. Setting examinations, both theoretical and practical. Assist in updating study guides and synchronize the current transformed curriculum. Coordinate, supervise/advise, and assist undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. Participate in research activities in the Department. Participate and support the postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine. Engage in Community development projects.  Perform any other duties as required by the school management.

Requirements

Lecturer: A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent from a recognised university. Registered or registerable with the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA), and possess a minimum of eight (8) years in the field of specialisation. A satisfactory record of teaching, research, and publications will be an added advantage. 

Senior Lecturer: A Master’s degree in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine or equivalent specialisation following a clinical entry-level degree (e.g., MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized University. Registered or registerable with the Health Professionals Council of Namibia (HPCNA) and possess a minimum of 10 years of clinical teaching experience in the area of specialisation. A satisfactory record of teaching, research, and publication record will be an added advantage.
