- Job Description
The incumbent will be undertaking research activities in the field of expertise. Responsible for the development and strengthening of capacity of research team and programmes. Publishing research outputs ,initiating collaboration and networking for research locally and internationally.
They will be mobilising funding for research, participating in and conducting skills and professional development programmes as well as disseminating research outputs. Develop skills enhancement programmes to build capacity.
The incumbent will ensure compliance with general laboratory safety guidelines, where applicable. Mentoring of other researchers and coordination of collaborative research activities and planning and preparing lessons. They will also be performing teaching duties to undergraduate/graduate and postgraduate levels, in day/evening classes as scheduled, including tutorials, seminars, practical classes, field excursions, lecturing students according to set times as decided by Council from time to time.
Preparing and developing teaching and learning materials and study guides for students. Assessing students continuously and setting and marking tests and assignments for students within an established time frame and invigilating, as required. they will be Providing consultation times to students, setting, invigilating and overseeing examinations according to rules and regulations in order to keep the set standards. Submitting examination papers timely to the Head of Department to be submitted to Examinations Office and / or to the External Moderator and m arking examination papers timely.
- Requirements
The candidates should be in possession of a PhD (Doctorate degree) coupled with least three (3) years of research experience and a satisfactory record in research and publication and service to academic and wider community; at least six (6) publications and of these at least three (3) must be refereed scholarly research outputs and at least three (3) must have been published since attaining the grade of Research Fellow,

The candidate should have a Master’s Degree coupled with least three (3) years of research experience and a satisfactory record in research and publication and service to academic and wider community; at least eleven (11) publications and of these at least five (5) must be refereed scholarly research 28 outputs and at least six (6) must have been published since attaining the grade of Research Fellow.
