Job Description

Provide effective lecturing to students of the University of Namibia, School of Engineering and the Built Environment and undertake research activities and provide relevant community services as required. Develop and maintain an internationally recognized, cross-disciplinary research program, and be able to contribute to current running activities in the department and the university. Establish a strongly externally-funded research program that complements existing departmental strengths. Should be able to teach courses including Underground Mining, Mine Ventilation and Climate Control, and Introduction to Mining. 

Requirements

The Candidate should be in possession of a Ph.D. degree in Mining Engineering; Three (3) years of service as a Lecturer, and a satisfactory record of teaching, research, and publication, and service to the academic and wider community; A cumulative record of seven (7) publications, four (4) of which must have been published since attaining the grade of Lecturer; At least three (3) of the publications must be refereed scholarly research outputs.
