- Job Description
A relevant diploma in Dental Laboratory Technology from a recognized Institution, coupled with three (3) years’ experience in dental laboratory procedures, and good organisational and administrative skills. In addition, a candidate must be registered or registerable by the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA). The candidates for dental technicians must have good communication skills for effective communication with both students and lecturers. He/she must have above-average eye-hand coordination and strong computer skills, especially when operating digital diagnostic equipment, e.g., the Computer Assisted Design / Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology. A postgraduate qualification in the field of dental laboratory will be an added advantage.
- Requirements
- Assist in the training of dental students through simulation, demonstration, and observation at the preclinical dental laboratory training to fulfill their dental curriculum.
- Working in the Dental Laboratory on prescriptions given by employed dentists/lecturers to manufacture fixed and removable dental prosthesis, as well as orthodontic appliances or any oral appliance as deemed necessary to patients attending the dental clinic of the School of Dentistry, University of Namibia. Perform any other relevant duties as might be assigned.
